BUYER BEWARE
THE COUNTERFEIT REBOR
The following is for buyer's information only! The proceeding images are of a counterfeit (AKA: Knock-Off, Bootleg, Clone, Fake, etc.) toy of the Rebor Tyrannosaurus rex KING T-REX. I wanted the fans of the company made aware that items such as this exist out there. I've seen other counterfeit Rebor dinosaurs on the market but none match the quality of this particular piece.
This figurine was purchased out of China for about half the price of the authentic King T-Rex. It was listed with a description as "Starz Jurassic Park T-Rex Model."
This item's sculpt is identical to the real thing but somewhat lacking in Rebor's fine details. The paint applications are very close but not exact. The colors are brighter, more glossy, and lacking some detailing as well.
The jaw is articulated and the rock stand this figure balances itself is hollow and not a solid construct like the original it pretends to be. The base is also glued to the foot and isn't removeable.
Both figures are heavy with Rebor's being slightly heavier. The false version appears to be made of a similiar PVC material.
As for Rebor's name imprints normally located on the underside, those are completely missing.
When this item was delivered at my doorstep, it was simply protected in bubble wrapping and bagged. There was no box, no information card, and its legs were secured to a transparent plastic stand adhered by twist ties.
For what it is, it is still very impressive. It looks much better in person than what the images show on its product page where I made my transaction.
As for how and where to obtain this, please do NOT ask me! I do not and will not assist or promote the commerce of any counterfeiting companies. Again, my purpose for this section is to increase collector's awareness and to educate them into being cautious if they are seeking authentic Rebor collectibles.
